Do not rent from Avis


DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! The elder attendant DOM is very unprofessional and rude. That is just the beginning! My sister handed him a Rush Card and he looked at it and threw it back on the counter and said "good luck finding anywhere that will rent to you with that." Since I had a credit card I just put the rental under my name and added her as a driver. With an attitude he grabs the card and ID. He hands me papers and says sign here and sign here. I look and noticed it is for the condition of the vehicle. I tell him well I would like to inspect the vehicle before I sign off and say it is good. He says to me" We aren't enterprise, we do not have trash on our lot, but you are more than welcome to" and throws the keys on the counter. I stand there for a second just astonished by this mans unprofessional behavior. I ask what kind of car is it and where is it? "He said use the keys to beep it until you find it in the lot on the left somewhere." At this point my sister and I look at one another and are furious. I don't even know why we even rented from these assholes. I inspected the vehicle found several scratches outside and inside the vehicle. Went back inside and finished the process. My sister took off with the rental out of state for a few days. The rental was returned on a Sunday a day or two after the agreement which she called and asked if she could keep the car for extra days. My sister being the idiot that she is. Locked the keys in the car in the AVIS lot because she couldn't get the keys in the drop box. They finally contacted me on Thursday asking where the car is and it was on alert. I told them it has been in the lot since Sunday. I am confused as to why they wouldn't contact me for 4 days if the vehicle was due back Sunday but they wait until Thursday? My sister and the same attendant Dom had an exchange and he threatens to charge the 4 days it has been there and charge her double. He also stated "I knew I should have not rented to you people." I contacted customer service at the beginning of this rental agreement about the poor customer service and again upon the return. HORRIBLE! I called the Avis location to try to come to some kind of agreement, DOM said I need to come down Friday, I told him I work 16 hours and was unable to, he says "Well take it up with corporate" and hangs up in my face. Customer service was no better. I emailed them asking for them to get in touch with someone at corporate office to reach out to me and all I ended up with was a letter in the mail stating they put me on the do not rent to list. My card was charged $600 for a rental that was kept from Thur-Sunday! I understand about the locksmith because supposedly Avis doesn't have a way into any of their vehicles because all the keys they have for each car is on that key chain. But it does not take 3 days for a locksmith to come out! I could of used my triple A! Just another way to up the charges on my account purposely as the attendant already had issues with us! If I use services, I intend to pay for them! But this is just ridiculous! We couldn't even come to an agreement, no response from corporate but a do not rent to letter, they stated it wasn't parked in their assigned parking area! Well if I would have known where that was since I had to go outside and look for the vehicle myself maybe it would have been parked there! But in all reality the vehicle was supposed to be returned on a Sunday and they don't try to contact me until Thursday about it? I guess they weren't too concerned! BEWARE! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE! IF THIS IS WHAT THEY ALLOW THEIR EMPLOYEES TO GET AWAY WITH, YOU ARE BETTER OFF AT ENTERPRISE!
