AVIS 'We try harder to screw you'
AVIS was my worst rent-a-car experience ever! I have booked a premium car at their Miami South Beach spot a few monthgs in advance. Then, after I came to pick-up my car, they told me that no cars are available and advised me to wait. During my hour-long wait, a few people came by, speaking spanish to the AVIS manager, and got all the cars they wanted. After a few complaints from myt side, the same lady said that no cars were returned, at which point the gentleman standing next to me confirmed that he has just returned his car! After that, the AVIS ladt agreed to give me his car but then refused it on the basis that my international driving licence are not valid in USA! As a result, I came back to my hotel and immediately rented the same car I wanted with the same driving licence (of course, no problem with them), but at double price. When I filed an official complaint to AVIS a little later, they said they are sorry and they will return me the difference. After a month wait, I asked them again where is my money on what the other manager has written me that their manager declined the payment! After they have already confirmed it to me! I have never seen such a shockingly unprofessional company as AVIS and strongly advise to never use them. I will certainly forget this name for good.
